Bison Harvest: Craig, Colorado - January 11, 2026
We had thought we were heading to Texas for a small group expedition in January, but the Bison of Northwest Colorado is stepping forward with ease and strength - and we are feeling called to meet this moment in like fashion.
We'll be returning to Wes's hometown, where a recent meeting with the local Bison rancher presented an opportunity to build a relationship with his herd, serve both the Craig economy and Sacred Wyld community, and allow one of our mentees to step up for his first harvest.
Sean Gherardi began his journey with a Sacred Wyld curriculum this past summer and is about to enter a new chapter in his career, making this a potent time to cross a harvest threshold - with one of the strongest animal allies supporting his next steps.
Working with the Bison is not a small ask or task, and we are deeply honored to have been presented with this opportunity.
It is no mystery that our collective relationship with the Bison and their original stewards is fractured and in need of attentive care.
This is our intention with this harvest: to contribute to the efforts of re-establishing reciprocal and loving relationships with these magnificent beings.
